Kitchen Renovations are Expensive. Do This Instead!

The average kitchen renovation costs $200 sq.ft.
Our goal was to do it for much cheaper.

Since we started growing most of our own food (over 10 years ago) and cooking most of our homemade meals at home we realized that most kitchens are not very practical.
Our home was built in 1965 and the kitchen has never been updated. little to no lighting and dark wood paneling made it hard to see. Also, the kitchen was meant for a much smaller stove and fridge and the layout didn't work for us.

Key take aways:
1. Reuse and repurpose when possible
2. Do it yourself
3. Keep it simple

Biggest Expense:
1. Flooring
2. Paint
3. Counter Tops
